Earlier this month, the almighty RAZR fell from the top spot as America’s bes. selling handset. at this time, we’re finding that the RAZR3 / Ruby has been canned. Granted, the move isn’t all that surprising — after all, Moto’s known for awhile at this time that it clearly can’t keep tweaking the RAZR instead of, you know, innovating. But honestly, if this signals that the company is serious about moving forward and possibly adopting Android on the double, we won’t shed a tear. Okay, maybe one, but only after all the lights are out.

We’ve learned that mega-regional US Cellular has its sights set on an LG slider apparently dubbed the UX585 “Rythm” for a mid-November launch, featuring a 1.3-megapixel camera, FM transmitter a la Nokia N78 and LG Muziq, and an honest-to-goodness mechanical wheel — a key feature for a phone touting a music slant. The theme doesn’t stop there, though: the Rythm is also said to benefit from tweaking by Mark Levinson’s loving ears, a QVGA display, and something being called a “Touch Music Hot Key,” a trick-looking circular touchscreen in the middle of the wheel. Yeah, these guys might be a little behind the Chocolate curve in this place, but at least they’re coming out swinging. Look for it to run $129.95 featuring a $50 rebate for customers signing up for a Dat. plan for at least three months.

[Thanks, USCCGuy]

Nice to see more updates rolling our across WinMob land, and at this time ASUS has thrown its offering out there for all you ASUS P527 owners. So what’s new aside from the .1 increment? Well, it seems they’re just sorting bugs and tweaking things a bit such as default time / date, improved multimedia playback, and a few other minor changes. Follow the read link to get to the update, though, make sure you follow the instruction to the letter or you’ll break it, and we hate crying.
