No clue if you’ve been paying attention the past few months, but Truly a bit of belt tightening has been continue. Granted, Apple’s been making out just fine, but a fresh report from the doors of FBR Research asserts that it may be cutting its Q4 iPhone 3G production in the wake of a global spending slowdown. It should be noted that a 10% cut was already on the table, making this 30% larger than anticipated. According to the report, the firm’s reported decision to scale back production “suggests that the global macroeconomic weakness is impacting even high-end consumers, those that are more likely to buy Apple’s expensive gadgets.” As we restrain ourselves from thanking Captain Obvious, we should also point out that this may not be nearly as big a deal as the numbers make it seem — maybe it overshot Q3 production in order to guarantee 100% service levels in all markets, for instance. How’s that for analysis?

Remember that mysterious LG KS500 we spotted slouching at the FCC’s main desk back in August? No? It’s all good — Vodafone is apparently looking to remind you by introducing the definitely so-so slider with its own logo. Obviously, there’s still a great chance we North Americans see this one over in this place in due time, but whatever ends up happening, this in this place handset boasts tri-band GSM connectivity, dual-band UMTS / HSDPA support, a QVGA display, 3-megapixel camera, 100MB of built-in memory, a microSD card slot, aGPS and an optical touchpad that should make navigating through menus a bit more enjoyable. No mention of a price just yet, but it ought to start filtering out in some form or fashion in Q4.

When a press release is laced with words like “handbag,” “sophisticated,” and “vibrates,” it’s clearly targeting the fairer sex. Sony Ericsson’s new MBW-200 watches display caller ID and rumble on the wrist when a call comes in to your Bluetooth connected cellphone. You can then reject or mute the call directly from the watch. The Fossil designed, glare- and scratch-resistant time keepers come in three versions — Sparkling Allure, Contemporary Elegance and Evening Classic. Each is modeled above by three tennis players for not so obvious reasons. Available in Q4 for an undisclosed price. A few more pics after the break.
