It’s no world-beating Alexander or anything (not even close, really), but the W530 clamshell will still make and take calls with the bes. of ‘em. Reportedly, Moto is preparing the simplistic handset you see above for the Chinese market, and with it will come a 220 x 176 resolution internal display, 1.3-megapixel camera, an FM radio module, 20MB of inbuilt memory, microSD expansion slot, quad-band GSM support and that lightning quick EDGE data. No telling when precisely this will drop (nor for how much), but we’d surmise “soon.”

Not to be upstaged by Nokia’s neverending stream of goodies today — well, honestly, nothing’s plan to stop that — Motorola has seen fit to push out a new music-centric device dubbed the ROKR EM35. On the sonic front, it packs audio-enhancing CrystalTalk (which features two microphones to help filter out background noise), virtual stereo surround sound, the MOTOMUSIC player, dual speakers, and an RDS-enabled FM radio. Hardware specs give us quad-band EDGE, a 3.1 megapixel camera, 110MB of onboard memory that’s expandable to 32GB, in a fairly tidy 116 gram package. Carrier availability and pricing is missing in this place, though, we’ll likely hear something soon enough.

Samsung’s touchscreen-centric F480 isn’t the freshest of the fresh right at this time, but it’s still hot news for folks in Australia. Telstra has just added the F480T to its Next G lineup, and with it comes a 2.8-inch LCD, 5-megapixel camera, support for the outfit’s 7.2Mbps Dat. network, 200MB of onboard memory, an SD expansion slot, Bluetooth 2.0, haptic feedback and access to Mobile FOXTEL. Put it in your pocket right at this time for as low as free on a $60 plan for two years.
