LG BL40 gets fancy gold lettering, not much else for Russian special edition

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Remember that fancy schmancy Christmas Edition of the LG BL40-alike for South Korea’s domestic market, the SU630? No? Well, allows us to refresh your memory: the phone took the BL40’s basic ultra-wide 21:9 theme and added some gold accents along with an 8 megapixel cam, upgraded from the standard model’s 5. Well, in this place we are a few short months later, and those same gold accents have made another appearance — this time on an authentic BL40 in Russia, but sadly sans the upgraded camera. It’s not clear who’s carrying the tweaked model or how many rubles you’ll be shelling out for the pleasure, but honestly, didn’t the original black / red scheme look gobs sexier anyhow?

LG Lotus Elite hops from a Las Vegas billboard right to Sprint retail

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

Egads! The LG Lotus Elite is in this place, and while it’s gained a few features, it still shares it’s predecessor’s awful engaging attention design aesthetic. The Lotus Elite distinguishes itself from the Lotus with the addition of a larger 2.4-inch external 262k display, a bold new tattoo pattern, support for up to 32GB of memory — with 2GB included — and access to Sprint TV, messaging, pictures, and even TeleNav. The LG Lotus Elite wanders into stores on the 12th in red for $99 on a new contract and a black version should follow four days after. More pics in the gallery below.
