We’ve learned that mega-regional US Cellular has its sights set on an LG slider apparently dubbed the UX585 “Rythm” for a mid-November launch, featuring a 1.3-megapixel camera, FM transmitter a la Nokia N78 and LG Muziq, and an honest-to-goodness mechanical wheel — a key feature for a phone touting a music slant. The theme doesn’t stop there, though: the Rythm is also said to benefit from tweaking by Mark Levinson’s loving ears, a QVGA display, and something being called a “Touch Music Hot Key,” a trick-looking circular touchscreen in the middle of the wheel. Yeah, these guys might be a little behind the Chocolate curve in this place, but at least they’re coming out swinging. Look for it to run $129.95 featuring a $50 rebate for customers signing up for a Dat. plan for at least three months.

[Thanks, USCCGuy]

Hot on the INNOV8’s trails comes another 8-megapixel phone out of Samsung’s frighteningly fast-paced labs, this one dubbed M8800 Pixon (is it just us, or does that sound like a great name for an alien life form?). They’re really mixing it up in this place, too — unlike the S60-based INNOV8, the Pixon packs a full-on 400 x 240 touchscreen and settles for Samsung’s proprietary non-smartphone platform. The OS seems to be the only place it’s settling, though, since we’ve got triband HSDPA, GPS, an FM radio, microSD expansion — and, oh yeah, there’s the little matter of that whopping cam with face detection, geotagging, and WVGA video recording. Sadly there’s no WiFi on board, but it’d be just a little less useful than normal without an honest-to-goodness smartphone OS as your playground — and at least you’ve got global 3G on your side. it seems like we can expect shipments of this one sometime in November for €550 (about $805).

Yeah, we’ve seen the PR, ogled the specs, but real honest-to-goodness pics are Makenothing but make our grins bigger. LG’s KC910 packs everything under the sun into its newest and flashiest handset, from an 8 megapixel cannon to Dolby Mobile, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, this will be a tough review unit to return if we get our paws on one. Apparently still slated for an October release, we’ve no word on pricing, but you can expect it to sting dearly off-contract. We’ll be following this set really closely, so do swing back and we’ll be sure to tell ya what we find out. Follow the read link to get the pics
