T-Mobile’s update for HTC HD2 now extra official, wipes some game purchases

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

On the list of ways to not foster customer satisfaction, deleting purchased apps with no recourse for getting them back has to be very, very high on the list, doesn’t it? T-Mobile’s at this time trumpeting that sort-of-leaked official update for the HD2 that features “stability and performance improvements” on top of a new ROM-integrated T-Mobile MyAccount app, but if you purchased the full versions of the demo games that came bundled with your phone, beware: installing the upgrade will wipe you out, and the only advice T-Mobile has for you is to “re-purchase them at the standard cost.” Gee, thanks, guys!

T-Mobile’s HTC HD2 gets updated

Friday, May 14th, 2010

T-Mobile has posted a firmware update for its HD2 that miraculously, and against all odds, updates it to Windows Phone 7 supposedly fixes a few bugs. You’ll need your IMEI to kick off the process, so… you know, don’t get any ideas if you’re just a miscreant looking for an easy way to score a ROM for a phone you don’t have. Let us know how it goes, won’t you?

Xperia X10 officially headed to T-Mobile in Germany this April

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

declare to the world in early November last year, the Xperia X10 has been Sony Ericsson’s paper flagship device for a good few months at this time, and unfortunately the latest official word seems to confirm that the wait will be even longer. NTT DoCoMo has already stated it’ll launch the handset in Japan this April, and T-Mobile has at this time also gone official with an April timeframe for the X10’s German arrival. Guess we can consider that February 10 “expected launch” in the UK dead and buried by this point. It’s all rather lackluster in our eyes — we’ve seen HTC produce the devastatingly versatile HD2 and even the Nexus One in the time it’s taken Sony Ericsson to iron out bugs in a UI we suspected was too ambitious from the start. Let’s hope the final product is worth the wait, eh?
