This thing’s been in the pressure cooker for ages at this time, but it seems like T-Mobile might finally be getting within a stone’s throw of actually releasing (or at the very least, declaring) the Shadow II, successor to the Shadow — HTC’s funky little Windows Mobile Standard slider targeted squarely at a consumer audience. The new model moves to WinMo 6.1 from 6 (we should certainly hope so), and as rumored, it appears to at this time support HotSpot WiFi-based calling. It’s no G1 on the geek scale, but if you’re looking to somehow strike a mythical balance between “cool” and “supports ActiveSync,” we might just have your winner.

If there were two entities we just couldn’t do without, they’d certainly be the FCC and Bluetooth SIG. The latest handset to be revealed courtesy of the latter is Motorola’s QA4 Halo, and thanks to a particularly insightful individual over at HoFo, we’ve even got a few purported details to pore over. We’re told to expect a 2.8-inch 400 x 240 resolution (touchscreen?) display, a 2-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot, USB 2.0, a CDMA / EV-DO radio, customizable widgets, Bluetooth 2.0 and a built-in accelerometer. Alright Moto, the secret’s out — how’s about an official release?

Merely a day after Nokia made the E63 officially official for those who purchase goods with euros, along comes the marvelously long FCC URL that we’ve been waiting for. Yes friends, the plastic, HSDPA-less shadow of the E71 is destined for American soil, but you’ll just have to wait until it shows up at the outfit’s flagship stores before knowing how pricey it will / won’t be. Waiting truly is the hardest part, is it not?
