Mum’s still the word with AT&T, but LG’s gone ahead and spilled the beans on the burgundy version of the Vu — a phone that’s starting to look a little long in the tooth in the face of its newer competition from Samsung, so what better way to freshen things up than with a new color? Only the MediaFLO-equipped CU920 version of the phone seems like it’s coming in the new shade, so if you were hoping to squeeze by without having to buy the mobile TV circuitry, we’re afraid you might walk away disappointed. Let us know if you see this one galavanting around stores, won’t you?

If this thing were coming from any source other than the legendary Eldar Murtazin of mobile-review, we’d go ahead and assume this was a knockoff nabbed off eBay for a few bucks — but amazingly, we think it’s the real deal. The dead-on-arrival burgundy slider with gold accents looks like it could’ve been part of a reinvigorated l’Amour series (or something along those lines), clearly putting styling at or near the top of its priorities — but it also steals the 6260 slide’s totally capable guts, which means it features a 5-megapixel camera, tri-band 3G, and a 480 x 320 display. If they had to choose between this and the 6260, the right model came out on top — but we gotta admit, it’s so far outside Nokia’s styling comfort zone that we find it tolerable in a really sick, twisted way.

Yeah, we just went back and triple-checked our personal wishlist for Motorola’s road to profitability, and “produce a fat RAZR clone with a stub antenna and few random splotches of burgundy” definitely isn’t on there. This Motorola i775 looks destined for the iDEN airwaves of the world, presumably finding a home on Nextel and Boost in the States — but with the monstrous Frankenstein styling, we’re wondering if it’ll go on to find a home in anyone’s belt holster. Cheap company-issue unit, perhaps?
