Since hearing about Nokia’s foray into the world of home automation, our curiosity has been seriously piqued. Thankfully, our girl-on-the-scene Drita has captured video of the new software / hardware combo in action on the Nokia World show floor. it seems like a fully decked out system is plan to run you a hefty fee (given all the components required), but can you put a price on the extreme laziness it will enable? We didn’t think so. Check out the pics on Engadget and the thrilling video out after the break!

Not to be upstaged by
Nokia’s neverending stream of goodies today — well, honestly, nothing’s plan to stop that — Motorola has seen fit to push out a new music-centric device dubbed the ROKR
EM35. On the sonic front, it packs audio-enhancing CrystalTalk (which features two microphones to help filter out background noise), virtual stereo surround sound, the MOTOMUSIC player, dual speakers, and an RDS-enabled FM radio. Hardware specs give us quad-band EDGE, a 3.1 megapixel camera, 110MB of onboard memory that’s expandable to 32GB, in a fairly tidy 116 gram package. Carrier availability and pricing is missing in this place, though, we’ll likely hear something soon enough.

This thing’s been in the pressure cooker for ages at this time, but it seems like T-Mobile might finally be getting within a stone’s throw of actually releasing (or at the very least, declaring) the Shadow II, successor to the Shadow — HTC’s funky little Windows Mobile Standard slider targeted squarely at a consumer audience. The new model moves to WinMo 6.1 from 6 (we should certainly hope so), and as rumored, it appears to at this time support HotSpot WiFi-based calling. It’s no G1 on the geek scale, but if you’re looking to somehow strike a mythical balance between “cool” and “supports ActiveSync,” we might just have your winner.
