So, we figure one of two things has happened in this place: either the Samsung Access has been a solid seller for AT&T, leading the carrier to request a near-clone from competitor LG — or LG saw the Access and felt compelled to provide a clone of its own volition. Either way, the CB630 Invision is getting to the AT&T Mobile TV fight a little late, because we’re actually hearing that the Access is already scheduled for an official sunset (not Sunset) on August 24, along with the Sony Ericsson Z750, Samsung SLM, and the Mobile TV-less version of the LG Vu, the CU915. We’re hearing that it’ll launch on August 13 for $99.99 on contract with a $50 rebate, so getcha popcorn ready, people.

An undeterred Sony Ericsson appears to have a handsome new slider on its way out in the near future — according to a slue of pictures leaked to the se4m forums — meant to sit beside the previously spied (and supposedly forthcoming) Remi. The device — dubbed the G705 — will feature GPS, WiFi, a 2.4-inch display, a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, 128MB of internal memory, and will run atop the A2 software platform. There’s not a ton of info to go around right at this time, but if you hit the read link you can feast your eyes on a wide array of succulent photos. We’re including another shot after the break, just in case you don’t like traveling.

What’s the sound of a tree falling when no one’s around to hear it? What’s the sound of one hand clapping? And perhaps most importantly, what’s the purpose of a clipboard when only one app can use it? Development shop Proximi is making a pretty big stink about its MagicPad app for the iPhone, touting its homegrown copy / paste functionality as part of a rich text-editing package to help shore up the handset’s weak sauce (read: non-existent) office app suite. That’s all well and good — the app looks well-executed and provides a core function that should’ve been present across the entire iPhone to start — but without buy-in from Apple, the clipboard’s stuck in the MagicPad sandbox. Cool? Yes. Should Apple be paying attention? Yes. Useful? At this point, barely.
