“CDMA” and “Nokia” are two words that still don’t feel like they belong in the same sentence, but the trickle of CDMA products keeps flowing out of Espoo, so we guess we’re plan to have to start readjusting our attitude at some point. The latest handset is the lowly 1508 candybar, lacking the style exhibited by the 1606 and 3606 flips but getting by with an integrated FM radio, speakerphone, and storage for 500 contacts and 400 text messages — not a barn burner by any stretch of the imagination, but hey, it fills a niche. It’ll ship in the third quarter to “chosen” CDMA markets.

Nice to see more info about
Alicia crop up before Sony Ericsson’s
June17th blow-out, and as an added bonus, forum user Phoner from Esato has shared a video of it in action. What immediately stands out on this new set are the two screens on the front of the phone, one pretty standard hidden job and the other on the control wheel. While the weather updates being shown on the control are pretty lame — we can usually sort the current weather while using the phone outdoors — though, other applications, such as album art make this a potentially cool feature. Sadly nothing more in this place, but we’re expecting great things come announcement day so in the interim, carry on to check out the vid.

Call us loony, but it sure seems like Nokia’s heralded N95 ends up in the middle of Truly a few DIY endeavors. Sure enough, said mobile is at the heart of Sittiphol Phanvilai’s latest project: NeuScreen. Put as clearly as possible, the project creates a multi-touch engine for the N95, and in the demonstration waiting after the jump, a simple pen light is used to control objects on a TV screen that is connected to the aforementioned handset. Confused? Give the video a look, that continuously clears things right up.
[Thanks, Moses]
