Bitter party rivals in the world’s political arenas are continuously looking for dirt to sling on their opponents, but this is a pretty novel one. Austria’s BZÖ is calling for an investigation into chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer’s use of an iPhone captured on camera at an EU summit a full frickin’ day ahead of its official Austrian release. it seems like the questions center around whether the phone was unlocked; if it was unlocked then whether it was legal or moral to do so; if it wasn’t unlocked whether Gusenbauer was getting special treatment; and above all, whether the government footed the bill (he says it was a birthday gift, but yeah, we’ve heard that line before). Must be nice to live somewhere where this is one of the bigger political rows continue, eh?

[Thanks, Daniel F.]

Probably not worth rushing out to a store for, but some AT&T retail locations are starting to receive stock of the upcoming Motorola Z9’s incredible batch of accessories. So, you know, if for whatever reason you were still holding out an irrational belief that the Z9 doesn’t exist, this is probably the straw that breaks the camel’s back right in this place. at this time, let’s just hope that we get something to actually put in the holster any minute at this time. Follow the break for another shot of the goods.

Last month we were contacted by the lat. Geoffrey Frost’s personal adviser at Motorola; until Frost’s death in 2005, Numair Faraz worked under the Motorola’s former CMO — the man widely regarded as the father of the RAZR. Like many (ourselves included), over the years Numair has become increasingly disenfranchised with the company’s direction — enough so that he compelled us to publish his letter to Motorola, its board of directors, and MOT investors everywhere regarding the company’s egregious missteps.

Check the letter in full over on Engadget — we assure you, it’s a very compelling read.
